introduction
The compilation of bibliographic listings was initiated as a project at a meeting of the Study Group on Ethnochoreology during the ICTM conference held in East Berlin, 1987. After an already fifteen-year history of the Study Group this Berlin meeting brought together the largest number of dance researchers from Europe, Canada and the United States. It became clear that many of us did not know about the kinds of research and resultant publications that fellow members had produced over the years. Also at this meeting a newsletter was proposed to keep all of us informed of current activities, and it was further recommended that a bibliographic listing be included as a standard feature of the newsletter. William C. Reynolds volunteered to edit the newsletter, and Elsie Ivancich Dunin volunteered to compile the bibliographic listings from the membership.
